Project HOME is developing a four-story, 36,547-square-foot building at 1315 North 8th Street. Gloria Casarez Residence, which will be the sixth project of the Middleton Partnership, will include 30 one-bedroom units of affordable housing targeted to young adults (age 18-23) who are homeless, have experienced homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness (including those aging out of foster care), and will be LBGTQ-friendly.
Building amenities will include a community room with kitchenette; laundry, exercise, storage, and bike rooms; and meeting and office space for residential services and property management staff. The site is conveniently close to public transportation, with the Girard Avenue bus and trolley station one block away and the Girard Avenue stop of the Broad Street subway line just a few blocks away. The proximity to these SEPTA routes provides additional access to Center City, regional transportation centers, and Temple University.
