Parenting is undoubtedly one of life's most rewarding experiences, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges. For Philadelphia residents, there's a golden opportunity this fall to enhance their parenting skills while also prioritizing their mental health.
Caregiving Education: The Foundation of Effective Parenting
Parenting is a journey filled with constant learning, and the Fall Parenting Plus Program recognizes this fact. This initiative offers 12 evidence-based sessions designed to provide caregivers with a comprehensive toolkit to navigate the challenges of parenthood successfully.
What You'll Learn:
Boundary Setting: Effective boundary setting is crucial for healthy parent-child relationships. Participants will learn how to establish clear, age-appropriate boundaries that foster a sense of security and trust within the family.
"Clear boundaries create a bridge of trust between parents and children, where love flows freely within the safety of understanding." – Victoria, Mental Health Partnerships Learning and Development Specialist
Exploring Parenting Styles: Every parent has a unique approach influenced by a range of personal and cultural factors. This program helps attendees discover which parenting style aligns best with their family's needs.
“Parenting is a deeply personal journey, influenced by a myriad of factors that make each family's path truly unique. Within the nurturing space of this program, attendees will embark on a voyage of self-discovery, gaining profound insights into diverse parenting styles.” – Kim, LCSW, PMH-C, Mental Health Partnerships Program Manager of Clinical Services
Understanding Developmental Stages: Gain insight into child development stages to offer the right support at the right time.
Managing Anger: Learn techniques to manage and channel anger in a healthy, constructive way—beneficial for both parents and children.
