Advocacy Day June 2026
Earlier this month, three counties of Pennsylvania: Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia attended advocacy day in Harrisburg, PA.

Earlier this month, three counties of Pennsylvania: Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia attended advocacy day in Harrisburg, PA. All three Mental Health Partnership locations attended and visited representatives offering personal recovery stories and sharing how MHP has changed their lives. We asked representatives to think about mental health and the unhoused when they are considering bills and funding.
Multiple people including MHPs CEO Dr. Jeannine L. Lisitski and NAMIs executive director Nicholas Emeigh Nicholas Emeigh | Bucks County, PA spoke at the rally. Dr. Jeannine L. Lisitski spoke about Mental Health Partnerships, 75 years working in advocacy with mental health individuals and the unhoused and how important their continued work is for the community. Nicholas Emeigh told his story and spoke of how preauthorization of medication can hurt individuals’ care and prolong their mental health crisis.
The day was a powerful reminder that advocacy creates change when people with lived experience have a seat at the table. By sharing their stories directly with lawmakers, participants helped put a human face on the challenges many Pennsylvanians face when seeking mental health care, housing stability, and supportive services. We are grateful to everyone who traveled to Harrisburg, spoke up, and represented our communities. Together, we continue our 75-year commitment to advancing policies that promote recovery, dignity, and hope for all.
